Gonzaga College High School

Washington, DC

Project Narrative

Giuliani Associates was retained by the Jesuits and the board of Gonzaga College High School to survey an adjacent property for conversion from apartments to an administrative building to house alumni relations and development. Giuliani prepared schematic, design development and contract documents working closely with Fr. Dooley and Stuart Long. At each step of the way presentations were made and updating the progress of the design. Once approved, the bid documents were prepared and the project

was competitively bid. Giuliani Associates oversaw the construction phase by providing contract administration services. The project benefitted Gonzaga by completing the block along “Eye” Street, NW with Gonzaga owned properties. The project was a sustainable reuse of an existing that had been long boarded up. Gutted, rebuilt, and updated to modern code standards and energy compliance the building has been serving a second life for more than thirty years.
