Professional Services: During the initial design phase, Giuliani Associates worked closely with design engineers and the design-builder’s installers to identify and resolve potential construction issues prior to start of construction. The fast track project required several packages for pricings and construction. All packages were reviewed by the design team and owner for potential conflicts or concerns. In addition, Giuliani Associates provided the following architectural services for the design-build team:
• Facilitating an “on-board” concept design workshop (CDW) for stakeholders
• Incorporating changes resulting from the CDW into the project design
• Developing the facility to comply with the Patuxent River Base Installation Appearance Plan
• Preparation of drawings and specifications to comply with Department of Defense standards
• Consultation with air station facilities personnel and NAVFAC staff
• Collaboration with outside contractors operating technical labs in the facility
• Coordination of building addition with existing building systems and construction
• Coordination of engineering distribution systems and raised access flooring systems
• Coordination of SCIF enclosures with building architecture & structure
• Coordination and review of technical information between all design-build-team members
• Finish materials selection and development of the structural interior design (SID)
• Selection of furnishings and preparation of Fixtures Furnishings & Equipment bid package
• Preparation of drawings and specifications for signage bid package
• Provision of construction support services (submittal review, RFI responses, and contract amendments)
