St. Patrick’s in the City

Washington, DC

Project Narrative

Giuliani was commissioned by the archdiocese of Washington to renovate the St. Patrick’s. As with several other churches in the area that had mechanical systems added to them circa 1950, this system was unable to handle modern-day demands and humidity was damaging the organ.

Renovations included replacing the roofing system, updating mechanical and electrical systems, replacing the flooring and refinishing pews. The interior renovations included opening up the Narthex to its original design allowing more light to enter the church.
