Professional Services: To determine the feasibility of the relocation of the TV-900 facility at IAD, the design team was tasked with evaluating the existing TV-900 facility and preparing a design development documents for MWAA w/ detailed construction cost estimate and anticipated relocation design. The design had to meet the FAA and MWAA design manual requirements.
• Perform preliminary building code analysis,
• Survey, identify and mark/stake the site in survey feet for both horizontal and vertical measurements. Horizontal datum and coordinates are based on the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83) State Planes Virginia North Zone. Vertical datum shall be based on NAVD 88,
• Survey, identify and plot existing utilities running through and in the proximity to the site,
• Provide a minimum of three (3) TV-900 site layouts depicting TV-900 building, standby generator, electrical switchgear, vehicle parking, utilities and connections, etc., with recommended elevations,
• Provide a minimum of three (3) TV-900 interior building layouts to include at a minimum two (2) regulator rooms, break room, unisex toilet facility, electronic equipment room, electric shop, storage room, etc. One (1) of the three (3) TV-900 interior building layouts shall be two story facility to house the electrical equipment on the second level and the Authority’s Exterior Electrical Shop on the first level. Reflected ceiling plans, roof plans, elevations, and sections are not required,
• Provide a minimum of three (3) TV-900 building rendering for the building layouts described above with recommended materials and cost estimates. Provide single full-color 3D rendering of each building, the site detail is not required on the renderings,
• Determine which, if any, FAA facilities are electrically powered, controlled or otherwise interfaced with and/or dependent on the TV-900 relocation. If FAA facilities require relocation provide a minimum of two (2) possible relocation sites. ATC Tower sightline studies or FAR Part 77 transitional surfaces studies are not required,
• Provide a minimum of two (2) schemes to supply electrical power to TV-900 and FAA facilities utilizing new and existing underground raceways installed as part of the Runways 1-19 and 4-22 safety area projects to support TV-900 relocation,
• Provide rough order of magnitude cost estimates for all scenarios, and
• Provide an FAA facilities turnover steps and milestone schedule. (Please identify type and number of FAA facilities).
